摘要

Lie groups have already provided us with nontrivial yet relatively easy to study examples of Riemannian manifolds. Nevertheless, they are a very special class of manifolds that one cannot use to study more general phenomena. Much more interesting examples, which to some extent are similarly accessible, can be constructed by taking the quotient of a Lie group by the action of a subgroup.
