Conclusion

Positive assessments of popular artifacts have often not been published in different media than negative judgments of them. Thus—at least in terms of the layout and quality of the newspapers, magazines, and websites—it cannot be asserted as a matter of principle that positive statements about the artistic quality of popular works are ‘worse’ than negative ones. The view that popular artifacts are bad works of art or not works of art has certainly proven unable to gain complete acceptance within the very forums where this opinion is (or was) primarily held.
