Health in Migration: Influencing Factors in Women before, during and after childbirth

摘要

In 2020, 21.9 million people with a so-called migration background lived in Germany. Migrant women during pregnancy, during and after childbirth represent a very heterogeneous group in different life situations. On the one hand, they can be exposed to specific health risks, but on the other hand, they can also have special health-relevant resources. Therefore, influences in the life course should be taken into account, as well as individual burdens or resources, but also differences in care with regard to the respective health system. Especially in this critical life phase ”, influencing factors professionals in the health and social sector who work with migrants should be aware of these different stress factors/post-migrant stressors and coping resources and build interdisciplinary networks.
