Care during labour and childbirth
摘要
Chapter 11 discusses selected aspects of care during labour and childbirth. Initially, the following topics are generally considered: respectful maternity care, the partograph for early detection of obstructed labour l, intermittent auscultation of the fetal heart rates, the WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist, and obstetric staff. Subsequently, concrete experiences and implementations of the above-mentioned topics are taken up using the examples of Uganda and The Gambia, before finally illuminating the cooperation between midwives, doctors, and traditional midwives.
