We highlight the significance of TARA within the automotive industry, explaining its purpose and necessity. We also describe when a TARA needs to be performed in the vehicle life cycle, based on our professional experience and the regulatory framework. We also discuss the duration and level of technical detail of a TARA project according to the life cycle phase. The overall TARA process covered in this book is described in the following chapters.
