Proctological Interventions

Proctology has an interdisciplinary character with surgical, dermatological, and venereal disease patterns. In the truest sense of the word, it represents a “fringe area” of endoscopy, but largely eludes normal, colonoscopic diagnostics. Nevertheless, most of the anorectal diseases discussed below can be well recognized and treated through careful inspection, a rectal-digital examination, and a proctoscopy.
