Endosonographically Controlled Interventions: Indications, Contraindications, Risks

Endosonography with fine needle aspiration is now a very important, specialized endoscopic method for the diagnosis and treatment of numerous diseases. With minimal invasiveness and minimal complications, it has high clinical effectiveness in experienced hands. In particular, the methodology is established and beneficial for the type diagnosis of smaller and disseminated lesions along and around the gastrointestinal tract and the bronchi, as well as for tumor staging and local therapy. This chapter presents the most important applications and technical prerequisites in detail.
