Introduction

This chapter introduces the main concepts used in this book, which includes a definition of business processes and the role of process models. Classifications of business processes are established and different types of stakeholders in business processes are highlighted. The introduction also looks at interacting business processes, it details the business process lifecycle and provides an overview of the textbook.
