Head Over Heels: On Sexual Tendency

  • Joan Copjec

摘要

Joan Copjec examines the concept of gesture, a movement that separates human subjects from organic life and vital adaptation and is ultimately responsible for the splitting and sexuation of these subjects. Capitalism, however, effaces these effects by reducing gestures to defining behaviors. Her argument unfolds through a reading of Kharálampos Goyós’s remarkable opera Anthony’s Death, which has been described as a “gay Lacanian opera.”
