Laudatio hostiae und laudatio victimae im Palaischen
摘要
In this study an attempt is made to shed new light on formulas, customary in Palaic ritual, for praising bread and sacrificial animals. The „bread formula“ (§3) is analysed as containing a simple alternative between apple cakes and honey cakes, which leads to a new interpretation of certain textual issues and lexical items. The „sacrificial animal formula“ (§4) is now translated in accordance with the closely corresponding Hittite formulas, which have hitherto been overlooked by students of Palaic.
