Uniform distribution, one if the simplest probability distribution, plays an important role in Statistics since it is indispensable in modelling random variables, and therefore in traditional and Quasi-Monte Carlo simulations. It finds its application as a distribution of roundoff errors, in bootstrap method, but also as a basis for a nonparametric test of goodness of fit together with Lorenz’s line and the index of concentration. There are both continuous and discrete uniform distributions.
