Confidence Interval
摘要
A 100(1 − α)% confidence interval is an interval estimate around a population parameter θ that, under repeated random samples of size N, is expected to include θ’s true value 100(1 − α)% of the time. The confidence interval thereby indicates the precision with which a population parameter is estimated by a sample statistic, given N and α. For many statistics there are also methods of constructing confidence regions, which are multivariate versions of simultaneous confidence intervals.
