Left-Handedness and Brain Asymmetries in a Clinical Context
摘要
Many, but not all, mental disorders and developmental disorders are associated with an increased rate of left-handedness and mixed-handedness, as well as an increased rate of hemispheric asymmetries with atypical direction. An explanation for this pattern could be that genes and environmental factors influencing brain development affect both handedness and asymmetries, as well as the onset of mental illnesses.
