Perception—Figuring Out the Visual Field

The third chapter focuses on sensory experience and the bodily foundations of perceiving and spells out theoretical consequences for intelligibility and meaning. In this chapter, I will look in some more detail at the optical and neural underpinnings of human vision and how they are reflected in phenomenology and especially Gestalt thinking – both in the history of ideas and in contemporary theory.
