Chapter ten examines how understandings evolve and spread, thereby enabling the dissemination of phenopractices by tracing the history of freeskiing, but also modern skiing per se, which turns out to be partly driven by the specific performativity of skiing as well as the necessities and dynamics of visual media that helped popularize, transport, and teach skiing around the world.
