Johann Georg Leopold Mozart kommt 1719 als Sohn des Augsburger Buchbinders Johann Georg Mozart und der Anna Maria Mozart geborene Sulzer zur Welt. Er wird am St. Salvator-Gymnasium der Jesuiten ausgebildet und erlernt dort auch das Violine- und Orgelspielen.
