摘要

In the final chapter, the Cauchy theorem is revisited within the framework of Runge’s theory to prove various results about uniform and locally uniform approximation of holomorphic functions by rational functions or polynomials. Runge’s theorem for polynomial approximation is applied, among other things, in the last section. There, in two situations, an impression is given of how complicated the situation  typically becomes when dealing with the boundary behavior of holomorphic functions.
