The Test for Correlation with Metric, Ordinal, and Nominal Data

  • Franz Kronthaler

摘要

In Chap. 6, we explored the question of the relationship between two variables, that is, how and whether two variables move together. We examined this for metric, ordinal, and nominal variables. For example, we analyzed a relationship between the variables marketing and inovation or between the variables expectation and self-assessment. We calculated the correlation coefficients based on the sample. With the correlation test, we now check whether the relationship discovered in the sample also applies to the population. Only then is our sample result relevant for recommendations.
