Neuropsychology of Fear
摘要
The main brain areas involved in fear are presented, their individual functions of the amygdala, thalamus, hypothalamus, hippocampus, and prefrontal cortex, and their interaction in fear. Significant here are the neuropsychologically based cognitive blockages in fear and their effects on learning and retention. The results of comparative behavioral research show the archaic fear reactions to which humans tend, for example, during exams. Ultimately, the consequences for psychotherapy are to be derived, including these neuropsychological circuits.
