There are no projects without risk because a typical project characteristic is innovation, and that entails risks. Project managers must therefore always see themselves as risk managers. This means that project managers and their teams are responsible for identifying risks and their impact on the project in good time. The next step is to initiate efficient measures to minimize or eliminate them. Risk management (RM) is a PM support function; see Fig. 5.4.
