Statistics and the Maximum Human Lifespan

Is there a natural limit to the maximum human age or can we theoretically live forever? Understanding and modeling human mortality is of great social and economic interest. In the following chapter, we explain how to estimate the maximum human lifespan using statistical methods and provide possible answers to the two introductory questions.
