Gross Domestic Product, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and Global Warming
摘要
Since the onset of the Industrial Revolution, the global mean temperature has risen by about \(1^\circ \) C. It is beyond doubt that, amongst other factors, this increase has been driven by products of human activity, i.e. by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. What are the relations between economic activity and emissions? Do emissions necessarily increase with increasing economic activity?
