Statistics at the Stock Exchange

For decades, prices and returns of financial assets have been a coveted object of statistical research. The present chapter focuses on common stocks and presents some recent contributions out of the enormous literature which has been accumulated on this subject. Unfortunately statistics does not teach us how to become rich with stocks (except in the long run). But statistics can certainly help us not to become poor.
