Chinese fishing ship M.V. “Min Pu Yu 05891” was hit by Greek ship M.V. “Anangel Courage” off Diaoyu Islands. M.V. “Min Pu Yu 0589” sank with 14 crewmembers. 6 of them were saved, 1 found died, and 7 missing. MSA investigated the collision and issued the report to charge M.V. “Anangel Courage” to undertake the major liability for the collision. Defendant, owner of M.V. “Anangel Courage”, voluntarily settled the personal injury and death claims with the crewmembers or their heirs. Plaintiffs, co-owners of M.V. “Min Pu Yu 0589”, sued Defendant for various losses they allegedly suffered.
