In this section, we will try to explore the role of NK cells in ocular immune responses, focusing on their involvement in ocular immunity and common pathologic eye conditions like herpes stromal keratitis (HSK), corneal transplants, uveitis, and uveal melanoma. Additionally, we will discuss the interplay between NK cells and other immune cells, as well as the molecular mechanism, in the context of ocular immune regulation and inflammation. Furthermore, the importance of NK cells in modulating immune responses and their potential implications for future eye treatments will be presented. Following an overview of ocular immunity and the concept of immune privilege in the eye, the discussion transitions to a detailed analysis of NK cell-related pathologies, moving from anterior to posterior anatomical structures.
