Preliminary Investigations

This chapter addresses preliminary investigations for an engineering geology project. First of all, the responsibilities of the parties involved in the project are clarified and coordinated. In the preliminary evaluation (desk study), planning documents are compiled and evaluated. This is followed by a field reconnaissance that includes mapping the site.
