Geological Principles
摘要
In this chapter, the main geological principles are presented. First, it is explained how geological theories and perspectives have evolved historically. Based on this, topics of general and regional geology as well as paleogeology are touched upon. Of particular importance for engineering geology is the tectonic inventory, which is formed during mountain building (orogeny) and includes folds, faults and fractures.
