Contaminated Sites and Waste Disposal

This chapter deals with contaminated sites and waste disposal. First, different pollutant groups are introduced: organic and inorganic pollutants, radioactive substances, explosives, warfare agents, and agrochemicals. Based on what is known about these contaminant types, it will be discussed how they spread in the subsurface and what migration patterns may occur. The second part of this chapter is dedicated to waste disposal.
