摘要
This chapter deals with the role of engineering geology in the planning of engineering structures. First, phenomena are presented that occur when the interaction between the structure and the ground is not adequately understood. As a result, damage occurs to the structure: it does not fulfil its intended purpose (serviceability) or collapses (stability).
