Subsidence

This chapter addresses the role of engineering geology in the assessment of subsidence due to karst and caused by mining. First, phenomena and mechanisms are presented. Based on this, the manifestations of karst are described in more detail. Mining damage as a result of the extraction of raw materials is then discussed.
