A 15-Year-Old Boy with Episodically Occurring Severe Back Pain

Back pain in adolescents is a common reason for presentation in pediatrics. In the present case, a non-inflammatory disease from the spectrum of osteodystrophies is discussed: Scheuermann’s disease. This condition can be very pronounced and can significantly impair the affected adolescents in leisure and sports. Therefore, a rapid and consistent clarification and differentiation from inflammatory disease patterns is important for the planning of intensive orthopedic conservative treatment.
