Recurrent fever episodes can indicate a periodic “fever syndrome”/an autoinflammatory disease. The accompanying clinical symptoms help in classifying the disease. A confirmation of the diagnosis through a genetic examination should be sought. Targeted therapy options (e.g., an IL-1 blockade) are available for certain diseases.
