Recurrent Mouth Ulcers

摘要

Aphthous lesions of the pharyngeal region and on the external genitalia are the typical symptoms of Behçet’s disease; due to the frequency of banal, especially oral aphthae, the diagnosis is often delayed. Additional symptoms e.g. of the eye, the skin or the joints can contribute significantly to the definitive diagnosis, as can an HLA typing (HLA-B51). This is particularly important for the rapid initiation of specific therapy.
