The male adolescent with back pain and often heel pain: This represents the most common case scenario of an early form of spondyloarthropathy, which is referred to as enthesitis-associated arthritis. To illustrate the quite significant differences to other forms of JIA, a patient is presented who historically and clinically offers the classic presentation of this important subtype of JIA; this diagnosis is also important for planning a treatment plan that deviates somewhat from the usual JIA therapies.
