Chapter 8 provides tips, tricks, and information on materials and manufacturing steps, and explains the individual terms. Materials for the production of thermoplastic splints and orthoses are described, as are dynamic finger splints. Throughout the chapter, reference is made to the small patient and their peculiarities. It contains tips on manufacturing, fixations, padding, and splint shapes, and refers to the corresponding malformations. In addition, there are descriptions of different material properties and thicknesses. Self-developed materials, their application and handling are explained. Reference is made to the previous chapters.
