Camptodactyly and Multiple Finger Flexion Contractures

Chapter 4 discusses camptodactyly and multiple finger flexion contractures. They occur in various degrees of severity and manifestations, and can affect one or more fingers of one or both hands. They often occur in isolation, but can also be part of a complex malformation or a syndromal disease. The focus is on the early onset (already in infancy) of conservative treatment. Manual therapy and the infant/toddler splint (Glove-Splint) are explained. Furthermore, the conservative treatment of multiple finger flexion contractures and camptodactyly in older children is discussed, as well as postoperative treatment. Treatment examples conclude the chapter.
