Visualization: Basics and Concepts
摘要
The chapter describes objectives and methods for the visualization of information in sports. Visualizations in sports are mainly used to identify patterns, trends or outliers in performance data and to answer the specific questions of sports more easily. It is argued that, in addition to general elements such as network or bar charts, sport-specific visualization methods optimized for the respective cognitive interest should be used in particular. Exemplary approaches for the visualization of the set progression in beach volleyball and for the analysis of individual attack tactics are presented. For the sport of soccer, it is shown how passing opportunities and free kick variables can be visualized using specific procedures.
