Physiological Modeling

  • Manuel Bassek

摘要

This chapter introduces physiological models in sport. Physiological models are primary used to assess the and load of players based on different data sources to optimize performance and prevent injuries. Generally, player load can be differentiated into internal vs. external and objective vs subjective. The movement profile of a sport is determining which models are appropriate. While endurance runners can manage their load via heart rate, in team sports frequent changes in speed have to be considered. The physiological models introduced in this chapter can be used in linear or multi-directional sports, depending on the requirements.
