Dynamics of a Point Mass
摘要
With the beginning of modern science, Isaac Newton developed the concepts of what we now call classical mechanics. His theory is build on three axioms: the intertia principle and the princicples of action and reaction. In this chapter we try to give you a feeling for the meaning of these axioms, among other things by contrasting them with Aristotle's ancient mechanics, but also by illustrating them with many experiments and examples. Eventually, this leads us to the basic law of mechanics, which allows us to calculate the motion of any body.
