In the previous chapter, you were introduced to initial wave phenomena. You saw waves propagating in one direction on a medium, such as on a rubber rope or on the string of a guitar. In this chapter, we will take a systematic look at waves. We will discuss the different wave forms (plane waves, spherical waves, etc.) and describe how wave packets are formed. We will cover the velocity of propagation and the energy transport of waves, and finally simple wave phenomena such as reflection and refraction.
