Generic Systems Engineering—An Approach to Mastering Complexity in a New Dimension

In the chapter “The Generic Systems Engineering—…” the approach to systems thinking as well as the representation of the system with concrete terms of the procedural concept and the thinking model is clearly delineated. This is followed by an explanation of the various systems, types of systems, and modeling of engineering sciences. From the insights of these different concepts, the basic requirements for a GSE-suitable thinking model are determined. This is followed by the same principle from the comparison of different procedural concepts, their analysis and derivation of requirements for a GSE procedural concept. Finally, the rough draft of the new GSE is outlined, which meets the demands of today’s times as well as the basic principles of systematic thinking and action.
