Introduction

The introduction first shows the reasons for the need for a standardized, cross-disciplinary Systems Engineering. This is followed by an explanation of the chapter contents, from the demands for a new Generic Systems Engineering (GSE) and the gaps in previous approaches, to the derivation of the new GSE and various practical examples for technical as well as sociotechnical systems.
