Overspeed Governor

The overspeed governorOverspeed governor is a safety component by definition of the European Lifts DirectiveLifts directive and consists of a disc in a stand, which is located in the machine room or, in the case of lifts without machine room, in the upper part of the well, and a disc in the pit. A rope, the so-called governor rope, runs around both sheaves. At one point, the rope is attached to the safety gear on a release linkage.
