摘要

While the need for spiritual care, as the fourth pillar of health care for the elderly and/or seriously ill, is undisputed by medical and scientific specialists, their organizations and in the principals of health policy declarations, there is a lack of concrete information on the realization of this claim, in everyday care. The responsibility for this has not been clearly formulated and its importance is reflected neither in educational regulations for medical professions nor in quality assurance or remuneration systems. A multi-professional group with a wide variety of professions and activity sectors took this as an opportunity to develop corresponding S1 action recommendations for spiritual care. They are intended for caregivers the same as for public facilities and institutions and the health policy system. Fifteen guidelines represent personal, structural and organizational framework conditions for spiritual care, regardless of where the person concerned is cared for and including relatives and other close people.
