Treatment of Obesity—Sports and Physical Activity
摘要
Obesity, like many other chronic diseases, can be explained by the maladaptation of our genetically adapted musculoskeletal system to our current lifestyle characterized by inactivity and overnutrition. Regular physical activity and sports lead to an increase in physical performance. This also applies to individuals with obesity. Moreover, they are capable of positively influencing almost all cardiovascular risk factors without simultaneous reduction of body weight and improving quality of life. For adults with obesity, a weight loss program is recommended, which includes 200–300 min per week or more than 2000 kcal energy expenditure. In children and adolescents with obesity, normalization or stabilization of body weight is best achieved through a combination of physical activity (movement and play) and diet.
