Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa predominantly affect women in the life phase of potential reproduction and usually last for several years. Therefore, questions in diagnostics, counseling, and treatment of patients often relate to the menstrual cycle, sexuality, fertility, desire for children, pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood.
