Non-Suicidal Self-Injury and Eating Disorders
摘要
Nonsuicidal Self-injury (NSSI) and eating disorders often co-occur in clinical practice, as the high prevalence rates in this overlapping area from epidemiological studies impressively demonstrate. Against this background, it makes sense to deal with common motives in NSSI and eating disorders, especially with regard to the (further) development of psychotherapeutic interventions. The current literature shows that many common motives (such as self-punishment) can be identified, although a differentiated view seems appropriate, as the functions can also differ in some areas. Psychotherapeutic interventions should include dealing with aversive emotions in addition to a clearly structured hierarchy of therapy goals. In order to lower the thresholds for accessing therapeutic help, the evaluation and expansion of online offers should also be pursued in this area.
