Zwei- und Mehrsprachigkeit von 1848 bis zum Postexil

Ausgehend von der globalen Dimension von Zwei- und Mehrsprachigkeit zeichnet der Beitrag die Bedeutung von Sprache und Mehrsprachigkeit im Kontext der jüdischen Emanzipationsbewegung seit der Aufklärung insbesondere in ethnisch-kulturell polyphonen, aber auch konfliktträchtigen Räumen Zentraleuropas nach. Er versucht Interaktionsmodi in deutschsprachig-jüdischen Schreibpraktiken ebenso sichtbar zu machen wie mehrsprachige Neupositionierungen und Transfers im Exil- und Immigrations-Kontext mit einem Ausblick auf die Gegenwart. – Starting out from the global dimension of bilingualism and multilingualism, this article traces the significance of language and multilingualism within the Jewish emancipation movement since the age of Enlightenment with particular reference to culturally polyphonic and simultaneously conflictual areas of Central Europe. Modes of interaction in German-Jewish strategies of writing as well as plurilingual repositionings and transfers within the context of exile and immigration experience up to the present are exposed.
