Embodiment—The Interaction Between Body and Psyche

  • Mag. Lackner

摘要

Embodiment is an interdisciplinary umbrella term for a new understanding of the interplay between body and psyche or body and mind (Bermeitinger et al. 2011). It also refers to the physical expression of a certain emotion (Tschacher 2006); on the one hand as “implementation of a specific emotion” within our body (Storch et al. 2006, p. 130), i.e. through a certain body posture, on the other hand as body sensation that we discern in connection with a certain feeling. Part of the research on embodiment is devoted to the so-called embodied emotions, whereby the physiological effect of our emotions on our body is researched.
