Descriptive Statistics: Forms of Visulization

The initial analysis of observed values or measurement or test data can be performed using a proper visualization, for which basic, standardized forms are suitable in order to ensure illustration and comparability. This chapter shows the basic forms of visualization as they are used in engineering sciences: Value pattern, bar diagram, histogram, cumulative representation, boxplot, mathematical papers, boxplot and X–Y plot. Finally, there is an explanation of the representation form isochrone diagram, with which, in addition to relative/absolute frequencies, temporal references can also be taken into account.
